This week we are exploring the Route 9, which travels from 4th and Walnut in Center City to Andorra Shopping Center via Chestnut, Walnut, the Schuylkill Expressway and Ridge Avenue. The Route 9 has been traveling this Route since 2006. The Route 9 replaced Route A Express service via Ridge Avenue on February 5, 1984.
On a typical weekday the Route 9 carries 4,793 passengers and travels 1,668 miles. Each day, it takes 139 trips. The Route 9 makes it easy to connect with other Routes, whether you’re traveling around Philly or heading out of town. The Route 9 connects with Amtrak at 30th Street Station, as well as 14 other SEPTA Bus Routes plus Regional Rail Lines. You can also connect with 11 Bus Routes at Wissahickon Transportation Center.
